JOHN INCANTALUPO
Aspiring Baseball Data Analyst
ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is John Incantalupo, and thank you for taking the time to view my portfolio website! On this site, you can view the various projects that I have worked on throughout the years, both independently and collaboratively. In May 2024, I graduated summa cum laude from Providence College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and a minor in Data Science. I am looking to use my acquired skills in R, SQL, and Tableau to pursue a career in data analytics, particularly in baseball. I currently live in Colts Neck, New Jersey, and in my free time, I enjoy competing in chess tournaments and going on bike rides along the Jersey Shore.
MY CERTIFICATIONS
SABR ANALYTICS CERTIFICATION
The SABR Analytics Certification Course is a three-part course offered by the Society for American Baseball Research for students and young professionals like myself who are looking to break into the ultra-competitive baseball analytics industry. As of July 2025, I have finished Level One of the course and am in the process of completing Level Two. I also have plans to complete Level Three in the near future.
You can view my final project for Level One here.
RAPSODO PITCHING CERTIFICATION
As one of the benefits of attending the 2025 SABR Analytics Conference as a student, I was given the opportunity to complete the Rapsodo Pitching Certification. This course was able to enrich my understanding of the many metrics used to quantify the effectiveness of a pitch, as well as how sequential pitches relate to one another.
FEATURED PROJECTS
A final project for a research course in sabermetrics. This course really sparked my interest in baseball analytics as a whole.
This project expands upon the findings from my sabermetrics research course, as we used our WAR model in order to predict the results for the upcoming 2024 MLB Draft.
My first full independent research project, in which I created a statistic that measures the similarity between two ballparks.
